Job Title: Senior Technical Writer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer with 5+ years of experience to join our growing team in Chennai or Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that communicates complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. You will collaborate closely with software development teams to deliver a wide range of content including user manuals, system documentation, online help, release notes, and other technical materials for our software applications being developed for clients in various domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and maintain user guides, system specifications, installation manuals, API documentation, and online help systems.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, QA, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze technical information.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage documentation throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring content is up-to-date and aligned with the latest software releases.
  • Contribute to process improvement and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the financial services or software development domains.
  • Proven expertise in creating software documentation, including API references, user guides, and system documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, etc.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong focus on clarity, accuracy, and detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and communicate technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial services industry terminology and regulatory documentation.
  • Experience with documentation tools like MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Markdown, or DITA XML.
  • Exposure to version control systems and automated documentation pipelines is a plus.
